Illustrating Lympstone Manor's Charity Gala: A Live Look at the Evening

Lympstone Manor is about as glamorous as Devon venues get — an up-market, coastal setting with sweeping views out over the estuary, and the kind of refined atmosphere that makes any event feel special. It's the sort of place people dream of getting married, and it turned out to be an equally sublime setting for a charity gala.

Capturing the Evening, Inside and Out

I illustrated both outside and inside across the evening, at none other than the Celebration of Speed, taking in the setting itself as much as the guests and the occasion. With Lympstone Manor's coastal views as a backdrop, there were plenty of guests to draw before the evening even moved indoors — and guests on the night included Calum Nicholas!

Rather than becoming a single keepsake or auction lot, the illustrations from this gala were given as gifts to the guests themselves — a lovely way to send everyone home with a personal memento of the evening, tied to a cause worth celebrating.
